I was able to hatch some chicks. Out of 18 eggs 14 hatched. I would have thought they would have been a little darker, maybe a little more colorful. Are these the correct color for chicks? They are a lively bunch, though not as flighty as other leghorns I have hatched.
I see your in eastern Oklahoma. I'm in western Arkansas. Did you get the eggs shipped or did you find some locally? I would really be interested in finding some locally.I was able to hatch some chicks. Out of 18 eggs 14 hatched. I don't either, but in an earlier post he was looking for breeders in eastern Oklahoma. I thought maybe he had found someone, especially after you asked where he got them. I was thinking 14 out of 18 is to good for shipped eggs, but maybe not.Donnie, I don't know of many that are breeding these, and only a handful of people have my line
Made some very hard decisions this morning....
I'm going to get out of the chicken "business". A few other reasons, but mainly my health. I just can't do the things I like to do anymore it seems. Of course I'll still have chickens in the backyard, but the breeding is going to have to be put on the back burner. I will be selling everything...
incubators, coops, birds etc. Birds will be auctioned or sold privately, everything else... I'll probably put a craigslist ad together.
