Minnesota!

@duluthralphie

At this point if I come home with another bird there will be a revolt.

My clan now consists of:
2 American Bresse - hens
3 Banty Cochins - one rooster, two hens
1 Copper Maran rooster, Zeus.
14 Jersey Giants
2 Red Star, hens
2 Black Star, hens
2 Silver laced Wyandottes
1 Copper Wyandotte
2 Buff Orpingtons
Dwayne and Grumpy

We have fun!

You forgot you have a few EEs too...right? Ha! I think I would also face revolt if another came into the mix...I am pushing our city limits logically counting our bantams as 1/2 chickens. Mostly because I am really good at chicken math. Still trying to rehome our super rare grapefruit chicken aka the last bantam cochin boy.

No, those barred roosters are headed to Freezer Camp, unless someone wants them. They are such mutts and they have no traits I care to propagate.

It is a shame they are nice birds, but I only need so many roosters. I am a little nervous going into winter with only ED as my Partridge Chanticler and main breeder

Bert JR. is the only toad that survived to continue my toad breeding program.

I only have one BA rooster with Ernie becoming a predators lunch.

The only think I have a lot of are the Creamettes, They are so small hardly worth the effort to clean them. I think I have 6 of them. Did you say you needed a Creamette rooster?
My sister raises seramas. Most of her breeders are less than 1 pound. She butchers her extra roosters (lots of extras this year with the ban). She butchers them, plucks them, cuts them wide open, takes out the guts and then cuts them along the backbone so there are 2 halves. Each half chicken is just a tad bigger than my palm.

eta: You have to realize "less than 1 pound" is live weight...There's not much meat on these carcasses. These are really not worth the effort in my opinion but we were raised in a time when you did not waste anything and my sister is very frugal.

Speaking of random hybrids, My 6 chicks I let my broody hatch are pretty cool looking birds. And I think (almost sure) I only have one rooster in the group. They are Marans/SLW mixes. Only the little roo and one other have feathered feet.

I'm actually not feeling very well! And I am about to say something that may jeopardize my redneckness! I think wolves are cool, I my issue is not with wolves, but rather with our DNR's flawed manner of managing our wildlife.

First Chicken pictures are required..

2nd I do not disagree wolves are not cool, but they need to be in the right space and learn their place,

3rd Why would the DNR manage them any differently than they manage most things?
