Minnesota!

Instead of mowing in a direction that leaves a little grass on the mowed section, I mow in a direction that keeps the grass piling up. Yeah I guess that could have been interpreted as putting the tractor in reverse. Lol.

Peanut butter cookies. I bet I haven't made them in 15 years. When I do cookies it's usually chocolate chip.

i like your setup. im sure it flows very well! Ive only had 3 other people help me at one time, so not such a coordination effort needed.
coffee, thanks for the pics, can't wait to see more. Sounds like Ralphie had an organized plan going. Especially like the london time.

Ralphie, did you use your whizbang plucker? I'm kind of reeling to hear that blanch is jeff. for some reason, I had that name down as female. Now, I know it isn't supposed to make a difference but...

Was sorry to miss camp, but glad to hear it went so well.

Klopklop, do you give your birds the comfrey whole? Last year I actually whizzed it up in the processor after it dried and added it to their mash, but it was a bit of a pita. I just didn't have any where to store those massive leaves, and they would be gross/covered with dust if I hung them in the coop.

i like hearing what everyone did with their day -

Bogtown, mowing backward? and you left out an important part of your day, what kind of cookies? glad sadie had a good day.

I have them hanging and drying whole. hopefully they dont disinigrate on me. I was going to sun dry them but weather this week isnt looking very good. If they work well, i may build a solar dehydrator out of some old windows i have next year. my plan is to chop up the dry leaves (think like oregano or basil as you would buy it) then sprinkle it into their food this winter. the stuff is supposed to be chok full of vitamins so i am hoping it will help keep their egg yolks nice and yellow as well as full of vitamins. that is one of the things our egg customers tell us they love about our eggs, the color of the yolk. I also have 10 bushels of oats and hopefully i will find some barley, which i will be sprouting this winter to give them greens to eat

yeah, thats what I did with the comfrey last year. Guess today is the day to harvest it if I am going to do it this year. I couldn't tell the difference in the yolk color but I agree it is full of good stuff, even protein!

I don't know, Ralphie, here's the redneck thing: peanut butter!!! yum yum. not just cookies, but peanut thai sauce - this is my fav comfort food. Noodles (udon if you have them, spaghetti if you don't) with a sauce of pb, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, thinnned with a little water. mix it with the noodles, top with chopped green onion and some peanuts. Fast and delish hot or cold.

I hate like heck to miss part of the day today outside, but my partner and I have committed to hosting an older couple for cards this afternoon. 3 pm. tacos and lots of chocloate. One of them is 70 plus, and on dialysis 3x a week. They just moved into town about 30 minutes from me to be closer to the dialysis and they are a bit flummoxed at "city" living, which is a pretty small town . I will have fun, but....kind of wish it were raining so I wasn't thinking of the zillion things I have to do but have not yet done.

any minute now I am going to go out and lay cement pavers under the new porch overhang. Did I tell you guys already how excited I am about this? It's an overhang from the house, and it means that the rain isn't pouring on you when you walk out the door. And splashing inside if the screen door is open And, no snow loads hitting you on the back and bringing you to your knees in the winter. ANyway, I'm going to lay some blocks/pavers which has to be done before I plant the tulips .

enjoy the day!

Just wanted to say a big thanks to Ralphy for the incredible host he was. His entire family (that I met) were such fantastically nice people. We were treated to a huge spread of food for lunch and great stories. Even got to shoot a few rounds from Mikes heavily modified AR15.
Coffee was a blast. She took to camp day like a duck to water.
Aussie Gal was super nice too.
Great meeting some you all. We have some of the best kind of people on here with us.
I will post some pictures later. A bunch of my friends and I got together and watched some silly b-rate motorcycle movie last night and now we are going riding. Got to run!! Enjoy the turning of the leaves!!

Good morning everyone, looks to be a beautiful day. Sorry you'll be indoors fore part of it, lala, I'll be in and out myself. Alternating between cleaning and yard work.

Lala, that is funny you thought BlanchRanch was female. I did from the name, but within a few posts figured it out. I wonder who else on here is in diguise. Holm, are you a girl? ;)
Well, I'm off!
