Minnesota!

I thought this was cute... Meredith hasn't wanted anything to do with her chicks since they were 4 weeks old, she'll chase them for even looking at her. Well tonight I let the "kids" out of the pasture to free range with the big girls and they were following her pretty closely, and she let them! She's actually been sleeping on their roost with them the past few nights too. She's going through a pretty good molt so I think she's extra sensitive and doesn't want to roost next to anybody who might peck at her.
That's Meredith at the top of the photo and her four "babies". They're 22 weeks now, so not really babies anymore.

I almost got the whole flock in one photo! I think somebody is behind the stumps because there is one missing...
They look like happy chickens...

Some photos of my white laced red cornish for your eye candy pleasure.

@Minniechickmama im so glad you talked me into taking 2 of them. they are so pretty! slowly getting less skittish

Well, the pictures of the calf didn't load right to the computer so I have none of those for you. BUMMER! I will try again tomorrow.

Minnie, thanks for teasing me about naming the animals! :) We named the feeder pigs too knowing full well they are supper. Their names are Ham and Bacon (the kids named them) and they will go to camp sometime in the next few weeks. The calf will indeed be food someday if we can keep him alive long enough. I get animals, give them my all, love, attention, and care and then they will serve their purpose to us. I do care for and find great pleasure in having all the animals but I always know, as do the kids, what the intentions are for each animal. Just the way it has to be on our farm.

I can't tell by the picture, I am thinking young wolf because it is so thin. Looks juvvey like to me.

BUT the track is wolf, way too big for coyote. DNR will say bobcat.
He said he couldn't tell and was forwarding it to the fed wildlife guy. Yes, the print is too big for coyote. and did you see I put your 5 gallon pail in the shot?

Yeah my thoughts too.

I have another camera but it wasn't on (human error) and that would have given us the profile shots we needed. I made sure both were on tonight. Now I need to scrounge up some more meat to put out there (DNR said too BTW so we can get better shots).
