Minnesota!

Tammy Wyanettes!?! "Stand by your roo!" They are gorgeous-feathered birds shaped like bowling balls. Love them. They are biddies on the roost but...I find them steady-eddies for laying at times when nobody else is laying...both my SLW and my BLRW. Right comb type for Minnesota. IDK....I like them. Klopper has a nice looking bird there. I think Cyrus has SLW's too. I need a Gold one.

Mine are all from tractor supply so the coloring is across the board according to standards but I agree, they are pretty. I also haven't had the poor temperament that some people talk about. They keep a wide berth to me when I'm around but they are nice to their flock mates.

I need more chicken breeds and more coops with covered runs....

Grandpa daycare is fun as long as the kids are not whiney like their Grandma...( She never reads this so I am safe saying that here)

I am going to try and post a couple pictures of my barred rock. She is in molt on the rear half so bad. it is fun to look at her. BUT she is shy and hates her picture taken. From the front she looks like a 1950's Indian brave with one feather sticking straight up from the middle of her head.

From the rear she is just pathetic.

Thank you for sharing this - we are finishing up the coop/run for the chickens. I had initially planned only to cover with the 1" netting but the more I read the more I am convinced I need to put hardware cloth on top too. I've got the 1/4" HW cloth for sides and bottom. Hopefully I don't need to order another 100' - why doesn't a store sell the 4' wide HW cloth in large lengths? grrrr

I hope you catch the bugger that' getting your wee dinosaurs!

Welcome and thank you!

I would definitely cover the top, if your able too. Knowing I have an owl I am contending with, we are going to get old CD's to hang in the runs. They will catch any light and reflect it. Which should help with the owl's, or any raptors, and it will give the girls something entertaining to watch. Still going to completely cover the small run, the big one is going to have lines crossing over it, about 10 ft up.
