Minnesota!

We get the flu shot. My daughter is a walking Petri dish and my parents are in their 80's. Anything I can do to reduce illness risk.
I'm pragmatic about it and don't recognize it as a cure-all. There are plenty of other bugs around to be had. :-)

That is a great way to look at it. DW works at the nursing home and gets one every year to protect her residents. We have no kids or contact with any, so very few vectors to be infected fortunately.

Now now, we don't need to get started on a debate on vaccines ;)

Not a debate but a comment:

Our entire family, especially my daughter has to be immunized against everything under the sun to enter the USA. When we moved here in 1973 I had to get a gazillion catch up shots.

I don't get flu shots either. I had a bad reaction to the first one, or just a poorly timed and unrelated illness and haven't bothered to try again. I am healthy and low risk for it so I take the gamble.

It's happened to me that I've developed flu-like symptoms after getting the shot. It's an unfortunate side effect.

I'm at work, so the fluffy feathered velociraptors are stuck in their coop/run.

I decided I don't like walking in the coop and stepping on crunchy frozen poop.

I opened their doors before I left (still dark) so I hope they are taking advantage of the day

My dogs think crunchy frozen chicken poops are the best thing in the world! They will crunch them down like crazy if we don't call them off
