Hi Cochins, Welcome! I'm about an hour southeast of you..... thanks to my chicken-eating-dog, I am down to 2 mixed roos right now, but have eggs due to hatch this week! No Cochins though![]()
Hello Cochins, Which package did you order to get such wonderful colors and what breeds?
How CUTE!!!!
I kept looking for that sale but never found it.. I had been looking at them before but I heard that they are hard to breed due to all the fluffy feathers at the behind. So after that I just left them be but Iam still looking to ge some soon. I have been trying to get a broody bunch to hatch out some for me. Do you have any luck with broody's?
The sale wasn't up at first, they put it up a couple hours later. I have never had a problem with breeding and neither have many other breeders. There are a few that just can't figure it out with all the fluff, but that's not very common.
And during spring, summer, and fall, I have overwelming number of broodys. There was one point that I had 21 broodys out of 24 hens. If you actually want one to be broody at a certain time, it's pretty easy to convince them. I love my cochins both LF and bantam.
Cool, How far are you from the cities? I raise Black Australorps and have a pair of Cream Legbars. I would love to have some broody's to help raise some chicks for me. I also have lots of room. How is their quality with the cochins as I might be interested in some. I have been going to shows with the BA's and would like alittle diversity perhaps.
