Minnesota!

Yep that is the paper I meant.

If you need anything, I am not too far away.

I am going to try and set straw bales around a fount outside to see if I can have water for them all winter as they free range.

I just ordered a fount on-line. You go pass my house all the time. How do I know that? If you live in Orrock and go to Runnings in Monticello you travel into town and #5. I live ON Hwy 5. The one with the 'Rapunzel house.' You will know which one I am talking about with the two-story storage shed. I call it the Rupunzel house. People were stopping to ask while it was being built; when we ate breakfast at Lake Cafe; in Church; In the grocery store, at the gas station. LOL.

wildchild, those puppies are too adorable.

Not that I am complaining, but I haven't ever picked green beans and raspberries so late in the year. Had a supper of fresh green beans and mashed potatoes from the garden. The berries will go with yogurt and walnuts for breakfast in the morning. Now if I could only grow homemade choc chip cookies.....wouldn't that seed sell for a ton of $$

You are ruining it for all of us guys! knock that crap off.

I tell me DW before she goes things like.

"Do I have enough clean socks and undies to get by until you get back?"

"Do you have any meals made for me?"

"Is there gas in my car?"

"When will you be back?"

By asking these questions you make your DW think you need her and cannot survive without her. While some here might think I am helpless by these questions I am actually helping my DW feel needed and wanted.

When she gets back you make sure you have some spilled flour or other things on the floor. When she asks why you didn't clean it up, you tell her, I could not find the broom, mop, dish soap and whatever else was needed to do the job.

Try to do better KloKlop!

LMBO!!! You didn't go to that 'class' did you? The one that the old husbands have for the young grooms to be?? LOL
I wish my husband would do all that sometimes, but his idea of cleaning out means fill the dumpster very indiscriminately! We did clean in the garage together last week and I am continuing on with my half of it. The house. Hopeless.

Well in my defense it was the weekend before our anniversary, so that was part of the motivation. I always rib her that she doesnt know how good she has it :) No classes or special training needed!

She knows i would lose my own head without her though :p

thats a very good defense, klopklop!

My dad used to tell the story that when he got married (this had to be in the 40's), his dad took him aside and told him that anytime his new wife asked him to do something, he should decide if it was a job he wanted to do. If he didnt, he was to do it so badly that she would never ever ask him to do it again!

that must be the class that minnichickiemama was refering to

My DH brought me a box of Chocolate Mountain candies Saturday when he got home. Perhaps it was because I gave his so much crap when he bought a box for our friend's birthday last month and he doesn't get me squat - EVER!!! You want to know the last time I got flowers from him? 1993!

I have a friend that told me when she got married her mother's advice was "never pick up a pliers or start a lawn mower." LOL No wonder I am in so much trouble.

I think I may have shot myself in the foot...
A few weeks back DW went away on a long girls weekend. I busted my buns to not only finish my own to-do list but also to clean the whole house, do all the laundry, dishes, and clean out her garage stall which has been full of crap for months.

She is leaving for a nursing home conference for the rest of the week and says to me 'I can't wait to see what you accomplish this time...'

I've set the standard to high

I suppose the house could use a little more cleaning
Hahahaha! I love what she said! I was laughing and had to read my DH your post

welcome to the vast wide world of ways to raise chickens

I don't refrigerate, except in hot hot months when I have a lot of eggs on hands. In most of europe, it is illegal to sell refrigerated eggs. in the us, it is illegal to sell unrefrigerated eggs. as far as I can tell, no one is dying.

feather grower....is probably just high protein. there is a brand out there cashing in on the wave of chicken owners...high end stuff. your choice! I like higher protein year round and during molting I boost it up even higher.

deworming, I think I wrote a book on it in an earlier post a month or so ago on this thread. you can search worming on this thread.

you kind of have to try out and see what works for you. a lot like raising children, many different ways to do things, so many variables. very few hard and fast rules.
Hard and fast rules? water, feed, shelter.

So one of my girls "Mother" isn't eating a whole bunch but seems fine otherwise, just a little slow. She gobbled up some live meal worms when I gave them to her though. I'll have to keep and eye on her and see what happens. this is day 2 of her not eating a whole bunch.

Little worried. I had one about a month ago "Fi" who did the same thing, she got better on her own in just a few short days, maybe 3 or 4. Fingers crossed it is nothing bad.
