Minnesota!

I am always normal Klopper, it is the rest of the world that is off most the time.

I need to explain the attempt to smear me by Coffee. I did not buy those John Deere pieces of trash. I would only buy red things.

My wife bought them.

The snow blower was purchased from an artic cat dealer, who happened to sell John Deere. Those of you up north (Duluth) area will know the dealership. It s located north of Cloquet and south of hwy2. We would rent snowmobiles with our other businesses. I would buy 6 snowmobiles at a time. I was buying my snowmobiles for the year and my DW was with. She saw the snow blower and wanted it. I argued against it as we had employees that cleared the walks. I cleared the large areas with a plow. As you can see I lost the argument and she bought the snow blower.

I was on an extended trip to Togo, doing the important stuff only a guy can do in Togo. My DW decided she was tired of using the push mower I had bought for her to use. It was almost new, BUT NO it was not good enough for her. So off to Home Depot she went. When I got home she had the green piece of crap in my garage! I think she bought it to show she could do what she wanted and when!

I bought the barstools. We saw them at TSC. I joked with her, telling her she should buy them beings she likes green stuff so much. She said there was no way in H double hockey sticks she would have shop stools in her house. We did not buy them that trip. I went back to TSC a few days later. I wanted international ones. They did not have the quality red ones. I was forced to buy the green ones. I brought them home sat them under the bar and put a bow on them with a little tag saying " Merry Xmas".

It was a mas present, I knew she would not throw out a Xmas present so I have "implement shop stools" in her house! as you can see this had nothing to do with liking John Deere and everything to do with being the winner in the eternal battle of husbands versus wives.

I won!!!

So even though the green stuff is there it proves nothing!

Hello, I live in Mn with 2 geese, 12 ducks, and 3 chickens. Would one heat lamp keep the barn warm enough so the little bantams don't freeze?
I have OEGBs and don't heat the coop. The only thing I do is if there is alot of moisture, I'll put bag balm or vasaline on their combs. My sister raises Seramas, which are even smaller (most if not all her breeders are less than a pound with many of her hens closer to half a pound) and she doesn't use heat except for some late hatches that aren't fully grown by the time the snow flies.

Do you really consider it a win if you have to look at the green things all the time? I kinda wonder if your wife might have played you on this issue? Maybe she wanted them all along and this was the easiest way to get you to have green in the house.

Sorry, BC, but chocolate chip cookies beat peanut butter hands down. Peanut butter is a nasty communist plan to subvert the gullible American youths.
Say what you want, I love peanut butter cookies, but my family isn't too crazy about them. I think that I need to whip up a batch, and maybe add milk chocolate chips to them too! MMmmmm

I am glad you all had a good day with the Camp birds. Ralphie, I think a cone set up is a very good way to go, a lot easier on their legs and such too for bleeding out. You could recycle large containers to make them too instead of buying them. Just a thought.

I spent half a day moving limestone rocks that used to be a retaining wall in the granary. My husband stacked them around a perennial bed I want to do around the old swing set now that the kids are too old for that. So, I started moving and finally got a two wheel truck out to do the big ones. I came in with really sore legs and back last night.
Before I started that though, I watered the strawberries that we had set. We have enough runners to triple the size of our patch. We need to decide where to put more beds for next year and keep those expanding and start making something off all our efforts. Eventually, all those fruit trees we planted will have fruit we can sell from too. The apples were abundant, but since we didn't spray, there were a lot of bad ones out there too. I never did get around to getting the wild plums and making jelly before they all went away.

DH tried some new Asian ingredients for dinner last night. He was up in the middle of the night soaking in sweat and I haven't been feeling so hot all morning. I think daylily leaves don't agree with us or whatever else he put in that stir fry. It tasted fine, but I don't think I want to try that again.

Well, I should finish my tea and head out to see what I can get done today. I know my list will never get finished, but I have to make a good dent in it.

You all have a great day.

Me too Klopper. Ralphie is definitely not as old as his claims. I was envisioning whiter hair.

I agree Ralphie that peanut butter is a lesser cookie than the almighty chocolate chip. But I was outta chocolate chips. And for some reason I had a hankering for PB. I'm good for another 15 years I think. Actually in this house my peanut butter jar is the smaller jug. I don't even buy big jugs of it because it would mold before we ate it. That's how much we eat Peanut Butter around here. I have friends and their families that I'm almost sure that is their main source of protein.

Mom used to make waffle cookies & still does although I haven't seen any dropped off at my house lately. With chocolate cake batter and homemade frosting to fill the holes. Mmmmm. The only waffle maker I can find is the Belgian kind with the holes too big. Mom's waffle maker has the smaller indents and the cord has canvas on it so I'm thinking 1960's or maybe even 50's. You. Cannot. Find. One. I would buy it specifically for waffle cookie making if I found one.

Well now I really wish I was there! Seeing the pics. I will do my best for next year.

Couple more loads of laundry on the line this morning. I need to get into the jungle that is other wise known as my garden. I worked hard to plant it this spring and will work hard to weed it out this fall...to harvest a row of potatoes. because that's the only thing that the rabbits couldn't get to and the crows couldn't eat seed potatoes apparently. I guess I better get a grip on that ramshackle fence if I want anything next year.
When Dad was over he wanted to know if I wanted the tiller. I do but I know what must be done first and that's to take out the 1 ton of biomass weeds that it is growing.

Dad also looked at the creamette yesterday while we watched chicken TV from the deck and asked. "That one there, she looks like a road runner." LOL. Yep. Pretty much.

"Beep Beep - Zep-tang!"

Thanks for the photos coffee 1st, wonderful. Went out to take care of the girls came back in and there were posts to read with my coffee thanks guys. So I'll post a couple. I think my birds are vampires, they do not like the sun. In the morning, the run is mostly in sun, so they all crowd where the only shade is under the henshouse. Anybody elses do this?

Run in full sun...where are the girls?

There the vampires are trying to cram under the henhouse in the shade. I'm surprised here their butts are in the sun, usually no part is in the sun. There is poor molting mother, the SLW standing on the 2x4, on the left of cluck-cluck, the BO.

If the run is in shade, they roam the whole thing. (this was morning before the sun was all in the run)

So here is the new system my husband came up with to put on/take off the green house panels without needing a drill to put them on and take them off, it works great! it will be much easier. In the winter I leave the south panels off unless it is going to snow (hate shoveling in the run). This will make it easy to put them on and pull them off. and easier in spring and fall when I take them all off and put them all on. We drilled all the holes and put in the brass inserts in yesterday, or as we like to call them brass holes.

You place the bolt through the hole in the block, then screw in the bolt about 1/4 of an inch or more, then finger tighten the brass fitting against the wood, yey!

sounds like a job for the widow maker! you could just chop it all down, give it a few days to dry, then burn it in place. that give double duty of burning up weed seeds, plus the ashes are good for the soil. You could even let your chickens on it for a bit after you chop it all down to eat what they like.

I just got home from a committee meeting at church. The older generation keeps asking me why nobody else my age comes to church any more (aka 20s and 30s) and i told them it is because of these dreaded committees everybody is guilted to be on. The difference is that I am to nice to say no, and they just dont come so they dont get asked.

You are a very evil human being! Why would you even put a horrible idea like this in my mind?

I may have to throw out the "shop" stools now!
