I just looked at the forecast... we're supposed to get a bunch of rain starting tonight and then 3 to 6 inches of snow!? Sloppy sloppy sloppy

klopklop and Minnie, so sorry about your birds.
Minnie, when you plant tulips in a big pot, do you leave the pot outside all winter long? bury it in hay? I did get my bulbs in Sat but barely. Have to go to FF today, and you know they will probably have bulbs on clearance. Mine often get eaten by the deer but I like seeing them the few days that they survive.
waiting for daylight....want to let the flock out to eat fresh green grass and clover and all, for a bit before I head down to the cities to spend time with baby. My daughter asked if I could come hold baby so she could try to sleep. I figure it is the last time the flock will have greens before a hard freeze. I can't believe I still have stuff growing!

I'll go to the FF in blaine, off 35w because I'll pass it on the way to my daughters.
Yeah, I am really excited about the grandbaby. So grateful to have been there for the birth. She's a week old today!
Can't wait til she's older and I can bring her home for the weekend - maybe when she's around 2? hard to remember that long ago with my daughter.
I still havent made it to a runnings but I want to. maybe this winter it will make a good road trip.
Am debating about totally locking the flock in the hawk proof run. I know I have to do it, just hate to. And I still don't have those 6 hens from the family that doesn't want to overwinter them. It will be easier for them to integrate if there is more room in the run....debating about emailing him and letting him know they should come get settled in before the snow flies.
and getting the quail settled for winter is harder than I thought. the watering - they are so danged small, think not even a softball - I tried a small dog bowl heated, but it is pretty tall for them to drink out of so had to make a little platform for them.
its daylight, time to hit the chores.
Ralphie have fun being grandpa today.
have a great day everyone!
