Minnesota!

Sorry for causing so much trouble here. I just want you all to know that I find no joy in killing animals and never have. I actually get quite sad after killing one. The only reason I was excited is because I know that by doing this we can eat SO much healthier than people that live of fast food. I have nothing against vegans or vegatarians but I dont want to change my lifestyle because they dont think its right to kill an animal. I would rather go hunt and kill an animal that has had a happy life. Than go to the store and buy meat from aninals that lived horrible lives where knowone cared what happened to them.

Absolutely NO NEED to apologize Holm. You are on a great track for being so young. Much to be proud of in what you're doing.

y'all are in an amazing good mood for such a soggy night!

I got good news today, the guy with the 6 pullets wants to meet me THurs so I can pick them up. I don't know yet whether that is morning or after work - I sure hope I can get them home before dark.

If it is dark when I get them....then.....what am I doing with them Thursday night? I guess I could lock the flock out of half the coop and pop the newbies in there with food and water for a day. But 12 of the flock currently roosts in the back half, so there will be some unhappy hens. Am going to take Friday off work so I can work with integration over the weekend.

I can't wait. There is a a Red Star, a Buff Orpington, a Double Laced Barnvelder, a Dominique, a Plymouth Barred Rock Bantam, and a white Silkie Bantam, all about 7 months old. I am risking not quarantining them , which I would totally advise anyone else not to do, because it is a stupid move. Am doing so because my spare coop has quail in it, and because this family had chicks last year which I got in the fall and are still healthy, and this is their second summer with chicks, these were new in the spring. I think it is a suburban home. So relatively small risk, but a risk so don't do what I do!!

Look at the size difference in these two pekins. They came from the same parents and hatched the same day.
