wouldn't you know all 8 quail decided to spend the night outside in the pen? little buggers. No idea what got into them, they haven't done that for a couple months, I think.

That is a beautiful sight! Doesn't it just make you happy to see your home and the beautiful setting? I like the old fashioned yellow tinged lights. Those blue tinged led lights, it just looks cold and institutional to me. The warm glow out on the snow...
Is that your driveway that the dog is on? or the road out front?

glad you made it home safely. bet your heart was pumping when she was fishtailing!

Technically it's the road, but it's a dead end spur off of a dead end road that nobody else lives on, so pretty much it's our driveway

Made it home safely, had one close call though. I ride a bus to work on nasty weather days, but I still have to drive about 15 miles to get to the bus stop. I caught an early ride with a co-worker back to my vehicle and just after we passed a snow plow going the other direction on the highway her truck started fishtailing. We were going sideways down the highway for a little bit, but she didn't over-react and made a nice recovery. Whew!

The girls were already all roosted up when I got home, they were having none of this:

I don't want to go to work today.
I don't want to try to put food in the quail pen and risk spooking them since they didn't go into the coop, and having them fly out of the pen.
I don't want to see if my favorite little blue crock which is subbing for a water bowl for Goldie froze in the night and busted open because I forgot to empty it last night.

I do want to crawl back into that nice warm bed.

The struggle is real!!! My dog was cuddling me in bed and I had to sleep in an extra 20 minutes because I couldn't disturb her

Last night my ex's flight from London to Philadelphia was on time but immigration took so long that he missed his flight into MSP. DD and I spent the night in town and are enjoying breakfast at the Day by Day cafe.
Am loving the cooler weather!

Well... Sad news... My Great grandpa passed away yesterday afternoon. He was peaceful and surrounded by family so there was no suffering which I am glad about.

On the upside guess who gets to go meet Minnie and bring home some very spiffy standard Cochin pullets... ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited!!!!! I have always wanted to meet her!! Hope all goes as partially planned.
