Minnesota!

Greg Suskovic, state vet, is coming tomorrow morning to train my mom on AI testing and renew her PT certification. I haven't sent in my hatchery permit renewal yet either. State told me to wait until they get here and we can go through with both the AI and PT testing. They also want us to get rid of all the waterfowl before they will even do any of the AI testing. If we don't go through with AI testing, my hands are pretty much tied with shipping anything. Most states now won't accept just PT testing.

On a side note... this site really has me swearing today. I've had to totally restart my browser 3 times just while trying to type this. Those video ads on right side of page keep stalling everything and then the whole internet explorer has to restart.

It's so good to see folks keeping breeds that are not common or usual.

Look forward to the photos!

I wish we could breed her back to a Tarentaise but for now she is just going to br bred to Angus. I am in love with old heritage breeds. At least I think they are a heritage breed. But it is still cool to own old breeds that u dont hear about any more. I want to do my best to keep this breed alive and well but i am yo young to start that yet... But who knows!

I hope everyone had a nice weekend! I was on call at work, so I spent most of my weekend working for folks that don't like to show up for their shifts. It was very, very, very exciting *insert extreme sarcasm*

@Minniechickmama and @destiny_56085 , I find myself a bit nervous to trim the beak. The chick sits for it fine, but I worry about over trimming or is that not really possible due to the density?

It's always saddening looking at a basket of eggs you can't eat. The ladies, on the other hand, love getting spoiled with scrambled eggs! I think I'll wait another 2 or 3 weeks just to be sure the antibiotics are out of their system before we eat them.

I bet you could find them but they'd cost a pretty penny.

Have you ever heard of the Belgian Blue?
Some call them a genetic anomaly as they are missing an enzyme that inhibits muscle growth.
Calves are always delivered via C-section because cows are too muscle bound to deliver otherwise.

Yeah, they really look like that.

Yeah I read up on them awhile back. Thought they were the CX of the cow world...
