I was so sad on Tuesday when one of my friendly girls didn’t show up in the coop (free range during the day) After looking for her, I hoped she just settled else where for the night. But she didn’t show up the next day, or the next, despite looking for her. I was coming to terms that a predator got her, or slightly hoping she had gone broody and would show up in a few weeks. On Sunday evening my husband went into the garage to get sand paper, he opened the cabinet drawer to find her IN the drawer! She must have hopped in, and it closes so easily it must have just shut with her weight.
But did you catch that math , Tuesday evening to Sunday evening! That’s 5 days without food or water! I took her straight to the coop, for electro light water. She was a little shaky but ate and drank then went to bed. Fingers crossed that she looks good in the morning.
