Misconceptions

Beekissed I want to thank you for that little tidbit about the margerine. I will be sticking with good butter even if margerine is cheeper. Plastic

Now, I haven't tried this but they say you can put a tub of margarine outside in the heat with the lid off and bugs won't bother it and it won't deteriorate much, just stays there. They also say it was developed to put fat on FACO turkeys when it was first made. I don't use much butter or margarine, but now I don't use ANY margarine!

Consider the common misconceptions: an egg cannot be produced without a rooster and a fertilized egg cannot be eaten. If they were both true . . . .

I think that a serious misconception is that a chicken is "chicken." My hens aren't foolhardy but a couple of them will run a neighbor's cat out of the backyard, posthaste. The cat probably outweighs 2 chickens and is popularly thought of as a first-rate predator.

Heck, a rooster will make the greatest racket about it that he can but he is almost fearless even when faced with near impossible odds. Unfortunately, I speak from a few of my own sad experiences.
