There are some sites that will allow you to resize animated gifs, but I haven't had the best success with them.

Maybe a photoshop / Gimp expert can resize it for you. I think it comes down to the amount of colors and complexity of the image and animation that makes the file so big.

i absolutely CANNOT upload my avatar!!!!! i even dowloaded irfanview, but those pictures put bmp after the picture and that won't work. my pictures are in adobe photoshop...what do i do?

Okay, I want to use a pic that is already in "my uploads". How the heck do I get it to be an avatar??? Can I get it from uploads to avatar without having to browse or save it somewhere else or go back in my files and find the cd that the pic is on???

You need to make the picture tiny and then get it out of your whachamawhosit. You can't just use one of your uploads.

Well, that's just dumb.

I still can't get it to work. I tried a different picture and it seems like the computer just freezes on me after I hit submit. It does NOTHING.

I can't seem to get the resized picture available to pull up. I tried shrink whatever dot com and that didn't work either.

What the h-e-double-hockey-sticks am I doing wrong???
