They snared this one , setting a snare trap might be worth looking into .
wow, beautiful! Shame they are such devils. Never thought of the snare traps- what do you recommend? I've never used one. Good idea with the game warden too. I'm pretty new to all of this, I appreciate the advice.
Honestly as old as I am I've never used a snare . Leg traps yes used plenty of those box traps too . just google it . But even around here coyotes seem easer to snare than shoot .I Just remembered WV posted that yesterday thought might like it .WVduckchick might be able to give you some websites to check out though .
my fav roo, the polish pictured in my avatar, was killed by some evil predator a few days ago. It was dark when I went to lock everybody up, and after counting he was missing. I scoured the property for him, and the next morning found an explosion of his feathers at the edge of the woods in the field. I had been home all day and never heard anything, but something got him. I still suspect our dog, because he killed my duck, but it seemed unlikely because there was no body, and he is too stupid to hide it. No other evidence or half eaten body in the woods, we all looked carefully. I guess it was a hawk, because that's what killed our last polish, but left carnage everywhere. Maybe it was a coyote though, because it was afternoon. No blood anywhere, just feathers
so sorry to hear that! I watched a neighbor's peacock get snatched by a hawk, there was a poof of feathers and that was it he had him! flew away with it. they usually son't eat in place, they get to a safe spot.
