Missing Broody Cochin

Quick update. As I mentioned we segregated her for observation. Her leg seems ok, but I went over her thoroughly tonight and she does in fact have some minor wounds that I did not see before.
So I went out to the coop where the other hen was with the missing tail feathers and decided to go over her more thoroughly and she also has wounds (some are actually worse than the bird I segregated. So...….
1) I still have NO idea how the run got opened. I'm still suspecting kids, BUT predator or kids, I have secured all doors in the run.
2) Obviously at some point in time they did come face to face with some kind of predator. Since I was away for the weekend this could have happened at any point between Friday and Sunday morning when I found it open. I thank my lucky stars cause it could have had much more devastating results. I'm hoping the birds will heal.
3) I'm off to the wound section of this forum for additional help.
For anyone who are experts in that area....please see my post to come. Advice welcome.
thank you

Since you haven't started the thread in the Emergencies forum yet, I'll just post here what I would tell you there.

Get some Vetericyn spray or gel. It's wonderful and cuts down on the hassle of treating wounds. After cleaning and flushing the dirt and germs from all the wounds, spray on the Vetericyn, let dry and then dab on antibiotic ointment, Neosporin or triple. Keep all the wounds cleaned out at least once a day and new Vetericyn sprayed and ointment applied before bedtime. They'll heal quickly.

Virginia and James I did not forget. Talked to friends today that have game cama they don't use.
Hopefully it will help not just the coop mystery bit the idiots pool hopping and jumping on my trampoline. AND let's not forget to mention the theft IN my driveway out of my car in my quiet neighborhood

Also helps you talk to the parents/caregivers/police when the time comes. And watch the raccoons, jays, mockingbirds, neighborhood cats...

Vetricyn, like said above, but blue cote is also a good antibiotic for wounds to. In my mind, it's good to have a variety of reliable treatment options. I have both myself.

Blu-kote is okay, but Vetericyn has something that promotes new tissue growth. I'm using it now on a hen badly injured by the rooster who wanted what she wasn't in the mood for and tore off the back of her head.

Coincidentally, this same hen had the same thing happen to her when she was a two-week old chick. At that time, I hadn't heard of Vetericyn, and I used other things. It took six weeks for her to heal. It's now been two weeks since this current injury and it's as far along in healing as her original wound was at four weeks.

Any where you can buy pet first aid supplies, you'll find Vetericyn.
