Missing duck, any ideas?

When my 2.5 month old chick got snagged by a hawk, it left nothing, grabbed the chick and flew off with it landing in a tree a little ways away.
If I hadnt seen it , I would have never known what took it.

I too have lost.... to Coons and coyotes. It broke my heart. I learned by my mistake. You have build your pen critter proof. Coons can reach though poultry wire or dig underneath. You have to out think these critters! Ya just can't let them roam at night....or...... if there be dogs about. I'm very ticked at my self for not thinking before hand. I lost 4 geese and my prize drake.

My husband is a former U.S MARINE. He got these ducks and geese for the farm, and I never thought for a second I'd fall in love with them as much as I have.... " His mistake"... These are my babies.... I know he'll protect them! " He won't let on but he loves them too"!
