Missing Muscovy & ducklings

I have a stray muscovy who layed her eggs in my hay barn. The ducklings have hatched & the next day she took them to my pond. Today they were at one edge of the pond. I checked about 45 minutes later and they are all gone! I've checked all day but no sign of any of them. What could have happened?

Maybe she moved her nest with the ducklings to a safer area. With being wild they may have a nest somewhere
Ducklings and ducks are also prone to predators
I hope she is ok

I agree with @Ilovemychicks08 it's very possible mom moved the babies to a safer place in the pond or around it somewhere. Duck moms are very leary and will find the safest places to hide their young.

There is some tall grass not far from the pond. I thought she might bring them back before dark. It was strange they were all gone. I will check closer tomorrow & give an update. This is my 1st experience with a duck & ducklings. I made sure everything was ok while she was nesting and now I'm like a mother hen! Thanks for the reply!

She likely took them to a place that she thought was safe. If you can't find her maybe she picked a good spot.
