missing wing.

Do you have a wire dog crate where you can place her with food and water in the chicken coop or run, so that she has some company? Do keep her away from flies. So happy that she is doing well.
not a bad idea have a small hamster type cage, i just feel that with a water bottle and food in it shell be pretty restricted. but maybe thats better than being bored all day lol. I hope it heals up in less than a week. since the others are now acclimating to the coop theyd be ready to free range before her.

Ahh had other pics on my good phone. Look how comfy she was in her surgery taco.

I have a one wing roo. A possum ate the other wing. I had to snip the dangling wing away, cleaned it up and used wonderdust on the exposed bone and tissue. I actually wrapped him with vetwrap over both wings to help limit his movement and reduce contaminants. After about 3 days, he was starting to fuss more and get active so I quit wrapping but left him in the brooder another day or 2. Then I put him in an out door pen. He had a lot of issues with his balance so I didn't put him back in Gen Pop with the rest until he could run & jump and do things without losing his balance. This pic was right before he returned to the flock. He got named "Emu" because he's a large flightless bird.
