Mite/bug problems... Retreat? If so, when?

We had an outbreak of something - mites, I suspect. I have bites on me as well. I dosed everyone with a few drops of Eprinex pour-on, cleaned out the coop and sprayed everything with permethrin 10%. I saw no evidence of bugs at all, but my bites are gone now and the birds don't seem to be 'preening' as much.

My questions: do I need to retreat? Assuming these were mites, when? Just the premises or the birds also? Do I need to withhold the eggs for eating?

All help is appreciated - thanks!

Thanks - so it's pretty safe then?

will eprinex get rid of internal worms as well ?

Yes, eprinex is safe and it'll kill worms. As a matter of fact I just switched from the regular ivermectin pour on to eprinex pour on. I got tired of throwing eggs in the garbage due to the withdrawal time. After using the eprinex as with other wormers, provide your chickens with yogurt or buttermilk(probiotics) mixed with scrambled eggs or canned beef catfood (protein), all mixed in their feed and give it to your chickens.

Oooh - thanks for the reminder! I do need to give them some yogurt!

thanks!
