I have 4 chickens who spent 5 months at another coop while my family was evacuated post ca fires. They had mites there but were treated twice before coming home. Our coop had new sand bedding & nesting pads. Its about 5 weeks since theyve been home & I noticed some feather loss (not a ton) on butts and spotted egg sacs by feather base but havent seeen bugs in coop or on the chickens. I have been using DE everyhere since theyve been home & also de’d their butts and bought premo spray. I have a sand run, hemp roost & nesting pads. Do I have to replace the sand!? Thats a huge undertaking & want to know if necessary?
