Mites!!

Put some diatomaceous earth down on the ground and add some to their feed.  Will get rid of mites and is safe.  Make sure you get the food grade DE. This will make sure that they don't get re-infected.

I've never heard of this before but just did some research and it sounds good also rang my father in law who is a landscaper and he can get some so yay. thanks

NO you did the right thing, that is terrible... why do people do that?!
The drops this sounds right, one has to remember that birds don't weigh that much, i keep larger livestock so for comparison the amounts in drops is more than sufficient.

Yeah I couldn't believe it when I went to the vet and brought the drench from them that it was the same stuff we use on the sheep! I had some the whole time lol but oh well now I know

Just double check that it is food grade which comes from fresh water diatoms. If your father-in-law is a landscaper, he would normally use the one for pool filters which is from salt water diatoms and is the wrong one.

You're welcome! We try to be as organic as possible around here, so we shy away from medications. Make sure that you get food grade DE, the other stuff is not safe to use. I do not necessarily use this particular brand, but their website has lots of info on how to use DE: http://www.diatomaceousearth.com/

Good luck!
