Mixed breeds

I like all the polish crosses. The things you can do with a polish... This is my mutt when she was busy being a mama hen.

This is one of the babies that was under her (silkie ee cross)

The black one is also a silkie EE cross. The next picture is Mama's DH wondering what the heck is going on in the broody run, he's also a mutt. Barred rock and light sussex!

Here is one of my mixed breeds. It is part silkie, part LF Polish. She is 10 weeks old here. I am going to use her in a Sizzle project.

A little different from my hefty cochin x barred rocks yes?

She looks like my chicken Mercedes. Beautiful!

This is our first egg!! My daughter and I collected it yesterday. Of course these silly birds have to start laying in the middle of a hurricane! I haven't seen anybody trying to go broody yet, maybe I will get super lucky and they won't for awhile. I think our Ruby-white leghorn layed it. Not for sure, she seems to be the most ready tho, but we have all kinds of mixed breeds so it's fun guessing. Well hope everyone gets some relief from the heat with some rain. Stay safe!!

Congrats on the first egg, there will never be another first! I recently had my first, now I have sooo.. many I tell the kids to toss the smallest ones.

This is the 3rd egg-3 days in a row right after we cracked it open. I still don't know for sure who it is that is laying...

This is it scrambled! It was soooooooooooooo good. I never had a right from the farm fresh egg before, only store bought. I LOVE THIS CHICKEN MIRACLE!!

We are getting an egg a day. The shell is so strong and healthy and the shape is perfect. I think it is one of our white leghorns, but they seem a bit small for a leghorn, but I don't think the other girls are ready, at least they don't seem as mature as the leghorns...im loving this...AWSOME!!!!!!!!!
