silver penciled rock over... Speckled Sussex? Or white rock maybe...

and of course, obligatory pictures, since I'm excited and showing anyone/everyone who will look, lol

Beautiful! I also just had my first mixed hatch. I have a Bielefelder roo who is 19 weeks, and the hens are Buff Orp, Australorp, silver laced wyandotte, and Bielefelder.
All the chicks have chipmunk striping of some sort.

I think this is a true Bielefelder tho the egg was smaller than usual.

These are from Silver Lace Wyandotte hens

Black Australorp

From my Buff Orpington - easy to identify, she lays the small ivory egg near the chicks head!

I'm hoping that the little buff mix is a pullet!

Any opinions on the rest?

Beautiful chicks!
Here are some of my mixed breeds. This is a Silver Spangled Spitzhauben crossed with Light Brahma hen. She is 3 months old.

This is Spitzhauben over Easter Egger. His name is Wylie. His is also 3 months old. Can't wait to see how his comb is when fully developed.

Yep! Like Wylie Coyote! Except I think I spelled it wrong. I just love him so far. Great beard, small top knot, and dark brown eyes. His racing stripes make his eyes look huge! He's a keeper for sure! He has loads of personality too!

I can't seem to get a good picture of the Spitzhauben/Brahma cross pullet. She's pretty flighty yet, but getting better.

These are of my little Roo. Bought as Ameraucana at local feed store but most likely an EE. He will be the start of my breeding barnyard chickens. I really hope he keeps that color.

Ok so for breeds that the hen is one color and the rooster another within that breed ... Are they different as chicks also as in being sex linked. Because I expect the little pullets to be white with black spots and the cockerels to be yellow with black ish 'spots' and of the 2 pullets and a cockerel I have that's how they're filling out and the male looked like the above chicks I posted a few days ago- yellow chipmunk... The girls were grey or brown and just sort of super soft. The next hatch I think was all them and half were brown or gray and the others were the above chicks. I'm sort of assuming they're sex linked but they didn't maitre until 6 weeks or so enough to feel comfortable with gender assumptions. The new babies are 2 weeks old and so cute :) their fathers other babies are also sex linked because the mother is barred and he's not. Anyone breed for sex linking chicks?
