Mixed-up order?

Anyone ever have a miedx-up order with a hatchery? I ordered 15 chicks and my Discover Card was charged twice with two different amts. I called the hatchery and told them I had called and changed my order but not to what they were sending!! . I did change my order from 5 st run Cornish, 5 Buckeyes, and 5 Salmon Faverolles to 5 st run Cornish, 5 Female Cornish and 5 Salmon Faverolles. So where did I get 15 Bantams from?????? I don't have room for that many chicks!! They came this am, I have made sure they all got water, hubby fixed a box and they are now either sleeping or pecking around for chick starter. The lady I talked to said she would talk to the owner to see what to do and she would call me back....she hasn't.

How frustrating! So, you have 15 bantams PLUS what you ordered? Or 15 bantams INSTEAD of your order? If you got your order and then some, I'd ask for a refund on the extra charged and then sell the bantams on Craigslist as soon as they are off heat.

In general, you'll find that you get more out of customer service by telling them exactly what you want to happen rather than telling them what is wrong and leaving it up to them to solve the problem.
 
I agree with debid you got to tell them what you want to happen. I would keep the bantams and sell them plus have them take the amount off you CC.

Yes, I got what I ordered +15 Bantams. Hubby is about to die! PLUS I already have 3 2 week old chicks and 23 chicks 7-10 weeks old! They will never fit in the two small chicken houses I have and the pen would have chicks from end to end. Of course, right now the youngest sets are in heated boxes in the garage. Not in the pen.

Of course, the lady I talked to told me they had never had a mistake like that and I would have had to give them my credit card # again. BUT...when I changed those 5 Buckeyes to 5 Cornish Hens...the price was different and and I didn't have to give them any info for that...maybe because that one would have been a refund before the Cradit Card had been billed??? I need to sit down and go over this in my mind again to see what the prices were, what the cahrge would have been changed to when I changed my order, what the cost of the Bantams was, ow much I was actually billed for those....OH GEEZ!!! What a mess!

LOL, oh no! Yes, actually... this week. The hatchery I ordered from is training new people and when I called to add a chick to my order, adding that chick duplicated my order in the system and it wasn't caught! My chicks arrived a week ahead of schedule and I was delighted. Then a week later (yesterday) I get another call from the post office.. a duplicate order sitting peeping and waiting for me! LOL They apologized profusely for the inconvenience, I would not be billed again and just to keep them. What a mess, though!
 
LOL I doubt it, mine was due to a computer glitch but it was healthy chicks n more. Really nice people, I hope they didn't lose too much $$ over the problems.
