Mixing breeds?

This is my first year raising chickens and I have a flock of RIR hens. Next year I want to add some more birds to my flock. I want to add some EE and BR. Are they ok to all have together? I will start the EE and BR from chicks then introduce them in. If that will work to have those three breeds, I also want to add a rooster. What would be the right kind of rooster to add? If possible.

Yes mixing breeds is just fine. I have about 15 different breeds in my standard flock now. Look through the breeds section on the forum and look up pictures of roos you may want. It's really up to you! I wouldn't start with a RIR roo though. They can be, well,......a handful. If you want to stick to those breeds, I would go with an EE probably. They make attractive boys.
