I think it might've been a while since I shared a photo that shows Mary properly.

She's a little scruffy from moulting, but otherwise she seems to be doing ok.

I just love how round she is without a tail. With that and those deep soulful eyes she looks exotic. 😍

Even with her full tail, she's still quite round in profile. All the Australian Australorps have those curled over tails that softly cascade down.

I've looked up some photos of show standard Australorps.

I think this gentleman might be bantam.

But this lady is a standard.

And there are more pictures of prize winning Australorps here.

They're usually quite round in profile.

It strikes me as odd when people claim a chickem with an upright tail is an Australorp. But that's how much the standards differ. Makes you think about what a "breed" is.
