MJ's little flock

Hi chicken chums :frow

I hope each of you had a wonderful Christmas day with more joy than you anticipated.

My brother visited and we exchanged gifts then had a big cooked breakfast before making salads for the chickens and visiting the neighbours for a feast.

Mary, Janet and Sandy tucked into their Christmas salads and were very excited by the bits of fetta cheese! Mm mm mm said Mary while Janet ate every crumb except for the few crumbs Sandy got to first.

I gave the same salad to the chickens who live up the street and they loved it too! The feast was outstanding and so was the afternoon nap :gigMy cracker had a magic trick in it which confounded everyone - best cracker ever!

What did you do? Did you receive a gift or two?

I just posted this on mine, the ladies got a full day of free range with Macaroni and Cheese, hand fed pasta, and were hand fed Blueberries & Blackberries to make certain everyone got their fair share. They ate very politely and shared without incident.

I was very proud and pleased.

This beautiful photo reminds me how devastating the bushfires can be.

OK, MJ, I've spoken to the man & here's what he had to say:

It is a very, very old tree. The main tree was to the left & has broken away; what you are seeing is an off~shoot from the stump. The fire is burning the internals, where all the toxins get stored. Where the phyllum is [that carries oxygen & food] between the bark & the centre, is not burning. So long as that doesn't burn the tree has a chance of recovery. His opinion was it would. :)
