MJ's little flock

You know, those poly pipe feeders are great for excluding pigeons (and not sparrows),but the hens eat more from an open feeder. Their poops have been reassuringly enormous since I started bringing it in to the run.

I mentioned reassuringly enormous poops the other day.

Here's one dropped a few minutes before the photo.

It looks bigger than an egg to me.

It has an undigested sesame seed, which would've been in one of the five stale crackers I broke up and gave to the hens this morning.

And Mary (of all people) was feeling so healthy, so happy, and so full of enthusiasm, she became momentarily airborne. I kid you not. Her feet were off the ground for about four flaps and she had a look beyond joy on her face.
