MJ's little flock

I’m not sure she’d stay on it. They’re back in the relatively sheltered spot with some sun. Snowy was also desperate for a bath.

Doesn't have to be on it necessarily. If she has a crate to huddle in than a bottle of hot water will keep the air around it a bit warmer.

Today was another rainy day. It feels like record rainfall. I'll check the stats.

ETA May was a record month, mainly due to the rainfall on the 30th. The Salisbury Bowling Club data is closest to my house.
Wow - and I thought where you lived was very dry. Do you collect the rain water for the chickens MJ?

It is dry, yes, it's a Mediterranean climate. I collect what I can but it mostly goes on the garden. Better rain water harvesting is on the long term wish list with so many other things :lau

I am having such a treat this evening. I'm watching a young-ish American youtuber react to classic Australian rock songs and it's absolutely wonderful watching his mind blown by John Farnham, Tina Arena, Crowded House, Paul Kelly, Jimmy Barnes, and loads more magnificent Aussie singers.

FWIW I find that even a small roof area (like over your roosting area when built) collects a decent amount. I now have a good set-up where the Chicken Palace roof collects enough for the chickens and for the yard around the Chicken Palace.

I have a plan to harvest rainwater off their roof in the modular rainwater tank once it's been replaced by new tanks.
