MJ's little flock

Lol… chicken math problems! :lau They both came from Shoalhaven Zoo and honestly, they’re not chicken people there. Bela is definitely a frizzle (cross) and if he has babies with a non-frizzle, the babies should be frizzle-crosses. I wonder if G-man has some Arucana in him, but I think they’re all really just bitsas. I was hoping Angel would lay blue eggs as I thought she might have some Arucana in her, but she doesn’t. I thought she and G-man had similarities.

Here’s Angel:

I didn't know they came from Shoalhaven zoo! I can kinda understand your hesitance about them going back there now, it's a really odd zoo.

They actually said to me that the would most likely be euthanised if we took them back there. I’m really glad I didn’t have to.

My brother's a chef and he's out of work right now, which means he's had time and inclination to do some handyman work for me!

He's
  • Cleaned the big coop
  • Cleaned the little coop
  • Assembled nest boxes
  • Moved plants around
  • Cut down the reeds
  • Stopped sparrows from getting into the big coop
  • Paved the interior perimeter of the funrun up to the point of running out of pavers
  • Painted some timber
  • Worked on the new roost
  • Tidied the garage so I can get my bike out without removing the wheelbarrow first
  • Cut some branches into kindling
  • Attempted to take rubble to the tip, had to bring it back again
  • Fed the citruses
  • Staked a couple of cuttings
  • Installed hooks on the living room window frames
  • Flushed out and stored a hose
  • Removed the old misting system from the big coop (I couldn't think of a time it might be needed)
  • Helped me move a heavy cupboard
  • Put a new back on another cupboard
It might sound unkind, but I love it when he's out of work! It makes a nice change to have a reliable tradie available. Tomorrow he's going to do more work on the new roost. At some point, he's going to stain the new picnic table.

Wow. That’s a lot.
Wish he were closer - I have a long list he could tackle!

Meanwhile -
