I got it in five, but was feeling very nervous that I wasn't going to get it at all! Phew!

One of the handyman tasks my brother's been working on is the new roost. The floor panels are cut, painted and ready to go in and the purloins are up for the re-roofing. Today he cut and painted a batten to provide sparrow-proofing at the front gable and some specially cut ply to weather-proof the back gable. He also dismounted the inner screen door in the back porch and starting removing the old torn flyscreen. And he found a couple of hose clamps for attaching the hose to the new reel he mounted last week - it's nice to have one fewer garden hoses to trip over!

Tomorrow, he'll finish removing the flyscreen, then he'll sand the door before painting it, and he's going to put up the batten and ply in the gables of the new roost. And maybe put some coat hooks up on the backs of the bedroom doors. It makes me so happy to see all these handyman jobs being attended to at last.
