MJ's little flock

Edie laid her first egg of the season today. It's small and rather elongated. She laid it very early in the day, on the floor of the big coop. She must've laid it before the hens were up because they would never have allowed it.

L-R, today's eggs are from Ivy, Edie and Katie.

It was a very hard word. A reused letter and a v rare letter. I still can't believe I got it so fast.

Sydney's looking great Bob! Isn't she flourishing!
Sydney has been making great use of her long neck lately. Apparently she has been reaching through the garden fence and eating tomatoes. Mrs BY Bob caught her and was furious.

I brought out the remains of Mrs BY Bob's reuben sandwich the other day and Sydney used her neck to reach between Aurora and Hattie and snag the biggest piece. She ran off with this big piece of sandwich and only Lady F noticed.

She is doing great. Apparently the one time was all she needed to raise chicks. She had shown no inclination to go broody again.
