Mary's so endearing. Every single peck she throws at the junior crew fails to land. They don't even bother to accelerate away from her any more, they just take one step to the side, nice and easy.

I'm sure a fox could. It's not clear from that video, but it's something I hope the people considered.
It looked tropical and I am not sure what predators they have. I don’t remember if it said where it is.I'm sure a fox could.
Many islands have no foxes. Kangaroo Island is not far from where I live and has no foxes. A large free range commercial flock was established there because of the reduced predator risk. I'm sure many are predated by eagles and hawks, but not foxes. Perhaps the chickens in the video are on a tropical island? It looked tropical and I am not sure what predators they have. They're huge! I was expecting smaller fruits. It must be a very healthy tree.MJ I thought you might like to see the nectarines on the peach tree. Or is it the peaches on the nectarine tree?
It is very confusing.
The nectarines are ripe and I just harvested a basket full. They ate the bright red and generally larger fruit.
The peaches are much more abundant on the tree but smaller and still very yellow. It will be weeks before they are ripe
I think the sudden outbreak of nectarines has taken the wildlife by surprise too - normally with fruit that ripe the raccoons would strip the tree overnight.
I am delighted. I love nectarines!

She has such an enthusiasm for food!I am completely confused but very happy!
I gave some of the windfalls to the Princesses. For efficiency sake I just lobbed them over the electric fence where they land with a thud and tend to split open which I thought would be easier for the chickens to eat.
Of course the thud of them landing startled everyone. But of course guess-who recovered first and came to investigate if they were edible?
Yup. Little Piglet came trotting out from the bushes where they all hid and started chowing down on nectarine.
They look wonderful! I also love nectarines.MJ I thought you might like to see the nectarines on the peach tree. Or is it the peaches on the nectarine tree?
