Just following up on the weird eggs post to say I was wrong. I now think they were Katie's.

Today she has egg bound symptoms. She's in the travel basket and her vet appointment is in 14 hours.

I dare not open the basket in case I can't catch her again without injuring her (she's so flighty) so I haven't yet looked at her this morning. We're off to the vet in 15 minutes.

Well, Dr Mark has retired (or he's trying to) so I'm trying a new vet. It's a chain vet specialising in exotic species, The Unusual Pet Vets.

She's halfway through her appointment and being amazingly well behaved. She's not egg bound! I'm delighted. But now we're exploring other possibilities.

Katie has inflamed intestines but her poop was clear of parasites (and the hens have never been wormed - sandy soil seems to reduce parasites). Now she's having a crop sample examined.
