They use the ramp a bit like the field lot use the extension roost bar.
Back and forth, queuing up, gotta get up but gotta respect the aunties ...

The youngsters' perch is a new one we put in on Saturday. Flat, with all the sharp corners and edges sanded off. The natural branch wasn't working out. Too much squabbling over who got the high spot and too much crowding in the low spot.

Watching that video again, I'm very satisfied with the non-slip under the ramp cleats which I put in several months ago. So far, it's held up quite well against the elements. It's the type of non-slip many people use in their cutlery trays. And I'm very satisfied with the width of the ramp, which gives two hens enough space to pass each other without incident. At one point Mary went up as Peggy came down and neither was knocked off course.
