Here is a puzzle for all you chicken fans.
Edwina usually lays an egg every 2 or 3 days. This week she laid one on Monday and hasn't laid another since.
This morning (Saturday) there were 2 of her eggs under the roost quite close to each other. One was thin shelled and broken and the other looked like this

Any theories?
Well, the side of the egg that is smooth and brown was the side that was buried in the straw under the perches. The white stuff is quite rough too.The bloom not being evenly applied?
