Also, I started closing my eyes with Mary as she was nodding off at night. Then it gradually expanded to all the hens.

Thanks Shad. It certainly did. We were excessive but we have not had a fancy meal like that in probably a year. It was a really nice evening out.

I think I've mentioned before that if the hens make eye contact with me and I slowly close my eyes, they think it's safe to close theirs too.

Has anyone else tried it?

Not with chickens but definitely with cats. The slow blink definitely works on cats.

They're still not 100% perfect, but they're on the way.

And here's a bonus shot of the jug in the bath. The water is not black, the alfoil is. I had to shape some alfoil to fit around the jug under the spout, that's why it looks a little funny in that area. The handle is fully submerged.
