MJ's little flock

It's not too hot yet (7.30am) so I put out a mini bale of lucerne hay and the hens are having a grand old time pulling it apart and eating the tasty bits :D

I put Timothy Hay in the nest boxes, someone suggested that. Well, they kicked it all out and all over the floor of the coop. They proceeded to pick it all apart, I guess to eat the good parts.
I switched back to pine chips.
 
I got a photo of Peggy's surgical spot yesterday. If it weren't for the bald spot with new feathers growing in, you wouldn't know she'd been opened up. So the antibiotics delivered on cheese was a winner.

She's doing ok I think. Mind you, I haven't seen her eat any of the new pellets in a dry format :idunno she getting by mostly on foraging, although she does eat some pellets wet before bed.
