It is amazing the additional stress a sick hen will put on you. You never realize it until they start to improve. I cannot say in words how glad I am that she is on the uptick.

Today she even tried to lay an egg. Not sure yet whether she managed it, because Janet's in there working on her own egg and I'd rather not disturb her.

But here's a nice photo of Janet watching over Sandy who's in the nest box. Or maybe she was merely queueing up. Either way, it's a cute photo.

Sandy did not produce an egg after all, but both Janet and Mary have, which is good because everyone has been off their game lately.

Thanks!! Sometimes I think Mary's have a pink hue, very pretty.

Both eggs had more bloom than in recent weeks so I presume the antibiotics are working.

Chickens say "Wow!"

I expanded the chicken yard today. It now encompasses the entirety of the back patch, which is what I had always planned.

Three lil girls went adventuring and played hide n seek in the tall grasses.

@rjohns39 please turn a blind eye to all the foraging about to corrupt their diet. They still have pellets and shell grit available around the clock, and seventeen as a meal/treat.
