MJ's little flock

Good evening MJ :frow

Good evening MJ :)
We are both doing well, although I am feeling my age the past few days :old
Looking forward to the 3 day weekend and being able to relax a little-hopefully :fl

Hope things are going well for you as well.

Hi friends :frow I'm still a bit too hectic, and may may have to spend the weekend catching up, but next week my schedule has flexibility, which will be a relief.

Glad to learn you've got a long weekend!

May I have your advice?

Chicken friends, Mary does not like drinking water with levamisole in it. But she must.

What would you do?
MJ, you can buy worming tablets. I don't do tablets because I lack confidence in administering but if she won't drink the water it may be the way to go. There are you tube videos on the how to's.

Is it liquid or pastille?
I make a solution in a clean small bowl. Capsules are emptied, pastilles are crushed and liquid poured from the container. I add to the drug in the bowl a very small amount of liquid vitamin supplement. I use one for humans.
Cut chicken bite size pieces of slightly stale bread and soak them in the liquid in the bowl.
You can use honey instead of vitamin supplements.
I then feed the pieces of bread to the appropriate chicken.
What you have to watch out for if you do it as I do, while they're free ranging is other chickens stealing the bread pieces.
If that doesn't work well then you can learn to pop the pill down the chickens throat.
This article has a good picture of where stuff needs to go and some good advice on tube feeding which is the last resort.
