They are 14 weeks old.
Ivy is a mix of Pekin, Wyandotte, and Silkie.
Peggy is Australorp, Pekin and Silkie.
I guess the pantaloons are an expression of Pekin genes and the crests must be from their silkie side of their families.
Um... I think 20 weeks onwards. The breed might make a difference but your combs will indicate about when they're ready.Oh, is that close to laying? I was prepared to give it a two or three more months.
Ooooo, I've never done a black comb. No idea. It should be a little bigger and more swollen looking. Colour I don't know about.Hmmm Peggy's comb is black. Will it go darker when she's ready to lay?
