They are 14 weeks old.

Ivy is a mix of Pekin, Wyandotte, and Silkie.

Peggy is Australorp, Pekin and Silkie.

I guess the pantaloons are an expression of Pekin genes and the crests must be from their silkie side of their families.

So they're pretty close to laying?

Um... I think 20 weeks onwards. The breed might make a difference but your combs will indicate about when they're ready.

Ooooo, I've never done a black comb. No idea. It should be a little bigger and more swollen looking. Colour I don't know about.
