MJ's little flock

It's a hot day. 41.7C (107.06F).

The hens are more interested in shade than misting. Mary and Janet are lying down in the tall grasses with a bowl of iced water handy. Sandy, the same but over near the woodshed where the shade is deeper. The pullets are in the henhouse under the mist.

M & J. are motionless in the heat, except for panting. Sandy and the pullets are a little more active.

Shade from the big tree next door will come over shortly.

Yes, it's just starting to cool down here. A little breeze has sprung up & the girls are in the coop enjoying some coolness now.

Oh that's nice! We usually have an afternoon sea breeze but not today. It's very still out there.

M & J have joined Sandy in the deeper shade now. They're laying down again, but Sandy's standing.

The pullets are quite perky and preening non-stop.

"Why I damp?"

"No, me damp."

"I dry meselp, me damp still."

"No, ME damp still. But fresh."

"No, me fresh. Very fresh."

"But no dry off."

"Strange."

"Very strange. Where dis waters from?"

"Magics."

"Must be magics."

"Nice magics."
