MJ's little flock

I'm now certain Peggy lays blue eggs. I noticed her getting anxious, making a nest, then she disappeared into it. I waited, did a few chores in the henhouse and yard (Ivy has a sturdy branch to roost on tonight and the young peacherine's roots are protected from Janet's enthusiastic dust bathing), waited some more... She emerged and there it was, another blue egg. She laid it in the nest box of the little coop.

Looks like she'll be a good layer too! Two in 2 days! Are you happy with the size of the egg? It looks a fair size to me but I am notoriously bad @ estimations.

You need to teach her to pad the back edge of her nest a bit more.:love

They're really small eggs but she's a bantam so I guess that's the right size?

Good morning everyone 😊
Some days I think I do and then others :idunno
My aches and pains keep me from sleeping deeply. I had shingles a few years ago and was prescribed an opioid - I hadn't slept so well in years. If it weren't for shingles I'm sure I'd have felt amazing.

They may get a little bigger as she settles into her laying routine. I actually prefer a small egg for hard boiling.
She's very little herself, so I'm ok with her little eggs.

Why's that? I imagine small eggs are quicker to go hard but maybe there's a reason I can't see.

lol. No. I just prefer a small egg for eating when hard boiled. I keep my big ones for poaching & omelets.
