The BH gave us our first egg yesterday and the turkeys started about a week ago. I'm upset with our Tom as the turkey eggs are infertile. He needs to figure out how to get his job done. I had planned on using a different Tom, but lost him over winter. Everyone is figuring out their new feeders, which is a really good thing.
I love her and want her to be a healthy, happy chicken. We all do.

They are going pretty good, there are days that I wimp out and get stuff done in the house. I have all this time, I might as well get things done before I can't .
It's seems strange how long it can take for a new item or new routine to become established. It's one of the reasons I'm looking forward to the new henhouse because once it's configured, it'll stay that way except for when new pullets arrive every couple of years or when time takes an old hen. So the hens will have a very predictable house with a foraging area safer than their current yard.Good evening folks

Just going through all the stuff that has not been touch in awhile. Shredding stuff that I don't want in the trash and putting together art work for the kids to pick up later. Oh I forgot - cleaning the canning jars that have been sitting around getting dusty. So I guess you could say "busy work "
Yes Grammy, it's the sort of work one never seems to have time to get around to. We have been doing the same thing. Cleaned out the bookcase and cupboards in the study. Now we have too much paper and rubbish to fit in our bins and recycling in one go. The carport is now full of stuff awaiting its turn to to go out.
