Thought I better collect some eggs. These are what I took out of Tribe 1's coop. I left half a dozen in the nest box. I thought Tap had been laying in there but it looks as if she's got a nest somewhere. I'll need to keep an eye on her.

I was wondering how Mel fit in to your naming convention! I'm in the habit of reading it as a short form of Melissa, it's good to know her name means honey.

Splint mail armor is a very specific phrase. I have never held splint mail armor and somehow I could immediately envision the feeling you were trying to convey. Great use of the language. Very clever turn of phrase.

Chicken's necks are a lot longer than they appear!

The feathers on her head and neck make me think of Mrs Brady's hair style from the Brady Bunch.

She is looking so much better. That neck is impressive! Much like a boxer you need to know their full reach. Does she eat the blossoms?

They like the flower buds just before they open. I'm thinking they are going for the nectar as they peck at the calyx at the end of the blossom then lose interest
