What a good girl! I'm sorry she's under the weather again, MJ.

This is her first full moult and now coryza too. Poor Jan. Life is not easy for her right now.

And she's been very grumpy for a couple of weeks. Understandably, but still. It's hard on the others who just want to get along.

I know. Luna, who has always been really sweet tempered is a grumpy molter. It must be hard on them, particularly when it's a hard molt.

Hudson was at home Wandering around the back yard. I couldn’t resist a few pics.

Fudge! That's the last thing she should do, surely. Out on her own while not feeling her best.

It is. It's very worrying.

I provide extra protein. I even buy high protein feed. I feed lots of meat to them from hamburger to pork. Mine like shrimp as well. I try to find meat treats that they normally don't get. Fish, etc. So they are excited to eat it.

That's just about all you can do. At least as far as I have figured out.

When Gedit had her major moult I tried everything I could think of to entice her to eat properly.
She would take a bit and that would be it. It was a major relief when she started eating the commercial feed again.

So Janet's down with infectious coryza again. I wonder if her immunity is lowered due to her moult because the other three show no signs of it.

Anyway, as it's infectious the whole troup are on lincospectin again. If she doesn't pick up in 5 days, I'm to take her back for a follow up.

She was a very good hen, stood still on the scales and didn't make a fuss at all.

I hope she pulls through.

Yeah he is, must be part silkie cause I’m not seeing feathers apart from in his hooves. (That’s what the tufts of hair around a heavy horses foot is called.)
